The brand originated in the early 1800s with Edouard Pinaud, a famous Parisian perfumer. Pinaud opened a specialty store, The House of Ed. Pinaud, which sold luxury fragrances for men and women. The product line also included shaving soaps, creams, and dozens of other grooming products. Pinaud's specialties included Eau de Quinine, a hair fragrance, and Lilac Vegetal, an aftershave with a clean, masculine scent that remains popular today.
